Draft Amending Delegated Regulation concerning the Fruit and Vegetables Sector

June 2025

Our feedback on the European Commission’s draft Delegated Regulation amending rules for the fruit and vegetables sector supports its goals of simplification, harmonisation, and improved crisis response. Developed by the DigitalTrade4.EU consortium, this input advocates for deeper digitalisation—through tools like the UNCITRAL MLETR, eIDAS 2.0, and Digital Product Passports (DPPs)—to enhance transparency, reduce administrative burdens, and integrate Environmental, Social, and Economic (ESE) sustainability data across the supply chain. We recommend pilot projects, SME upskilling, and alignment with the EU’s broader digital trade and Green Deal agendas to future-proof the sector.
